Tarot
A divination tool that is used to help connect to ones intuition and inner wisdom. They are like a window into the subconscious mind.
The cards traditionally come in a deck of 78. Each card has its own story represented by imagery and symbolism. The imagery and symbolism relate to astrology, numerology, alchemy and spiritual archetypes. The deck is split into the Major Arcana and the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana are representative of life lesson's - karmic and spiritual. The Minor Arcana represent the daily trials and tribulations of our life experience. The Minor Arcana are divided into 4 suits that represent each of the four elements: earth, air, fire, and water. The Minor Arcana Court cards are the varying expressions of our personality, and the remaining Minor Arcana cards are a depiction of daily situations.
Tarot helps us to see where we are on our spiritual journey and view our circumstances from a higher perspective. This allows us to make better choices, move forward with greater understanding, and achieve our goals.
Oracle
A divination tool that can be used in a variety of ways to connect to your inner guidance, like a window into the subconscious mind.
Unlike Tarot, there is no traditional system with Oracle cards. Each deck is completely unique. They can be used at the beginning of a tarot reading to gain insight into the overall energy of a situation. They can be used at the end of a tarot reading for advice in reference to the situation. They can be used on there own in ways similar to the tarot to understand the meaning of a situation. Oracle cards are often a more subtle way to gain insight and leave a lot more room for interpretation.
Each card has its own story represented by imagery and symbolism. They can contain imagery and symbolism that relate to astrology and numerology, in addition to the specific symbolism associated with the decks theme. Just like Tarot, Oracle cards help us to view our circumstances from a higher perspective, which allows us to make better choices, move forward with greater understanding, and achieve our goals.
